Reflections
For all of my reflection photos I used the pond by my house. I chose it because it makes giant reflections and I have lots of memories there. In the summer I would swim the pond all day long, pretend to be a pirate and let the swim platform float around the pond, and catch frogs then set them free. In the winter, we would clear off the snow and transform the pond into a beautiful ice rink to play hockey on and race around like speed skaters. By the time the pond would thaw in March, me and my dad would jump in the freezing water, signifying the beginning of the swimming season in the pond.
Shadows
For my shadow photography I took photos of the pond again and of a cabinet in my house. This old cabinet has been in the house before me and my parents even moved in. It contains lots of stuff from when I was little like floaties and life jackets that I used to swim in the pond. It also contains bird, butterfly, and caterpillar identification books and old photo albums containing pictures of the dog parties my parents used to host every year. Even now, I still wonder who else used this cabinet, and for what else did they use it to store?
